Caribbean Paradise

At Easter I went to the Caribbean and it was amazing. So I thought I'd post some of my favourite photos to make you all jealous.
I would happily live there, its so relaxed, impossible to be stressed, and the local tourist attraction involves holding baby turtles!
Crisp blue seas, white beaches, it was so surreal.
Enjoy the pictures and I've included how to recreate one of my holiday outfits below!

The difference in weather definitely dampened my holiday blues even more.

generic 'loving life' holiday photo.

Babyyy.

Maxi skirts are everywhere at the moment, even in this honking UK climate, its nice to know we're optimistic. So here are some similar outfits, both of the items I am wearing however are from Topshop.

Blomming

Blomming is a site in which users can buy or sell their products from your own little shop.
This is like Etsy, you might say. Well, this is where you wrong.
Blomming allows the user to create their own shop on Facebook, through their page, as well as on their blog, just by adding photos of your product! (none of the 'click on this link' hoohaa).

You can feature your products on your blog posts, and sell them without ever having to leave the page!
Your products will also feature on your Blomming profile, so other users can see what your selling and hopefully spread the word!
Now, being a budding entrepreneur like my self (see Stray Nails) and not really knowing where to start sharing my product, especially when you have to pay to even put your products on a site, this is the perfect solution!

As soon as I have enough product (again, stray nails) and some good photos of them (failure to prepare is preparing to fail) I will definitely set up my own little shop on Blomming, excitingggg!

You can check it out, and open your own shop here

Instagram Step Up

Instagram has taken a big hit on the world of smart phones. Celebrities, artists, fashion companies, everyone is instagramming, not only to create beautiful photos, but as an interesting marketing tool.
So its no wonder they've created apps to take it one step further, making Instagram style photos, but using frames, so the user can create a picture using several different ones.

There are three popular apps that provide this at the moment,  Diptic, PhotoShake and Picframe. They all do roughly the same thing, just in a different format.
I bought Picframe (£0.69) from the Apple app store, and its made instagramming so much more fun!

You might have seen I've already used the effect a bit on past posts, the best bit is, you don't have to post the photo straight to instagram, you can save it on your phone, or even share it on Facebook or Twitter instead. I was sold!

Below are a few examples, from me and other users!

Birthday Wishlist No.1 - Lomography

Ok, apologies for being A-whol recently, but finishing Uni and going on holiday will make that happen I'm afraid!
It's my Birthday in October, which may seem a little early to start making a wish list, but seeing as its my 21st, these things need to be planned!
Some of these wishes may be a bit unrealistic but it doesn't mean I still don't want them!
First on the list is a Lomography camera.
These quirky cameras create amazing photography with different lenses and styles as well as coming in a range of funky colours and ranges, I love them!
Created by 2 students in Vienna after they found the Lomo Kompakt Automat (in 1991 - the year I was born, coincidence? I think not!) and the amazing photos it snapped, the Lomography company has come on leaps and bounds, even being sold in Urban Outfitters, which is probably not their greatest achievement but still!
They created the world's first compact fisheye camera, The Fisheye. This creates a rounded circular effect, one of my favourites!
Price wise, its not exactly cheap, but the packages they do are amazing, and reasonable compared to a DSLR, they are not heavy, just simple little cameras, who pay homage to the times before technology took over!
The photos are disposable but can be scanned at a photo developers onto a disk which is a bonus.

Below are a few of my favourites and some amazing snaps that can be taken with these stylish snappers.
Fingers crossed I find one in my Birthday Bundle!

The 'Wall of Fame'

Apologies for not posting in a while. Uni, work and socialising hasn't left me much time to blog! The past few days I haven't had much to do, so this means I have been able to lazily wake up at godly hours of the morning and just think in bed for a few minutes, these moments are made better by my precious 'Wall of Fame' (Above). A memorial of favourite photos taken over the past few years that I can look at and remember as being the best of my life so far.
If your like me, and you would rather spend your money on those new shoes than a poster, or a fellow student unable to rip down the damp dreary wall paper and exchange it for some Laura Ashley floral prints then here is a great decorating tip for you!
Do you have old photos lying around in albums, or stashed in a file on your desktop (most likely, being the 21st century) simply print them out and place them strategically, or even creatively intertwined with drawings, around your wall to really enhance it with memories you love.
Apologies for the mess that is my room! Below is a small notice board filled with child hood and family photos which I have also added to with concert tickets, and various bits mainly from nights out!
But printing out photos is so expensive isn't it? Actually no! With a bit of site comparison research, I managed to find a great deal by signing up and getting 99 prints for just 99p. A bit of Advertising here, for those UK readers, I used Snapfish. They are always doing great deals and if you find a good offer, some of their products make really nice gifts, such a a calendar for Mum or even a canvas to add to your 'Wall'. For you international readers, i'm sure there is an equivalent near you out there!
I have even been cheap enough to gather free flyers and postcards from around campus to add to another wall decoration, including some great vintage vogue cover postcards (a gift from my sister) which I add to all the time and it looks interesting!

So why not try it? There are so many possibilities with this idea. Something a bit different in terms of interior design, a chance to be creative and you can share your precious memories with everyone who walks into your haven!
