IOTW #4

Here are my Instagrams of the Week. Bit of a mixture for this one!
Firstly, my mum bought some wacky flowers which are beaut so I took a snap.
When it was sunny a while back I went to my bathe in my friends garden.
I made the third picture a bit bigger so you could actually see it. I started using the 'No Crop' app which gets the whole picture onto Instagram which is handy, and used it for this coastal picture when I went for a cliff path walk.
When I was at the Country Show last weekend helping my mum sell her lovely Bunting, they had an animal farm next door and this little bubba cow was inside, too cute!
I love a 'look I'm in the garden getting a tan' picture.
The selfie was for the BINTM 'selfie' stage of their competition of which you can read my post about it here. I had actually just been doing a shoot on the beach and therefore was in a selfie mood.
I have been doing lots of my Davina work outs recently being unemployed (starting work at Next this week, thank god!) and therefore spend my morning doing a few sit ups, and I'm loving the effects!
My newest nail design, cartoon nails, a woman saw them and said they were 'fab'.
And lastly, a club photo from last weekend, wearing my new Topshop animal print top.

IOTW #3

I haven't done one of these for a while, but here are my most recent instagrams.
The first is my gas bill from today. Its 2p. Sorry what?!
Then a funny tbt from back in the day, playing around on my balcony, modelling, with a spear... as you do.
Then my lovely OPI red apple shade, I left this colour at home whilst at Uni, so it was nice to get back to it and try it on again.
Then a lovely picture that I drew when I was younger, such a talented youngster. Nat.
I went to the dog races (protesters step aside) for my last night in Manch, it was a fun night and a good send off.
The next picture speaks for itself.
Then my uni building, which I will actually learn to miss.
My glitter pimp skeleton, who has been with me since my first term at Uni, I couldnt throw him away, so gave him to some friends who have another year left.
You've all seen the last picture, its from my summer ball.
And there you have it, some of the weirdest and most random pictures around.

Daphne Groenveld is 16?!

Ok, I was originally going to do a post about Daph because basically she's my new girl crush after seeing her in the Dior Addict advert.
After that I kept seeing her face everywhereee, obviously in magazines or blogs, not the street.
Then when I did a bit of research and found out she was SIXTEEN?! I not only now hate her (jealousy) for being absolutely stunning and successful at such a young age but also a bit disgusted with myself.
How can someone look like that at 16? HOW?!
When I was 16 I had acne, a missing tooth, and no sense of how tall I was so I hunched over, a lot.

This Dutch gem has such unique features she's caught the eyes of Vogue Korea, Vogue Russia, American Vogue and Vogue Italia. Dior, Roberto Cavalli, Calvin Klein, Anna Sui, to name a few!

She's been nicknamed the mini Bardot, understandably.

She doesn't even need to pout, its just there all the time.

I am in awe of her, and although this post may sound a tad bitter (over-exaggeration is a weakness) this girls looks are inspiring to the fashion world.

So here are some photos of her to make you all feel as bad about yourself as I do,
THANKS DAPHNE.

Julian Hakes Mojito Heels

This is my love of the week, strangely found by my mum, a wacky one off design which was never even meant for the fashion world.
Julian Hakes has been kicking up a storm in the blogger network recently and if you don't already know who he is or what 'mojito heels' are, here is a little bio.

He started out as an architect, but posted a rough draft picture of these heels on a design blog, where they went viral.
After millions of views, plenty of baffled stylists, fashionistas and bloggers were scratching their heads over these futuristic pumps.
Agencies got in contact and a model wanted a few pairs for a fashion show.
It soon dawned on Hakes that he might actually have to manifest these shoes into reality, and fast. Fashion waits for no one.
After 2 years, the design has been tested and perfected to create the sleek, elegant and light heels and his first collection was born!

Definitely designed for the fashion bold, I think these would be a pair that even Carrie Bradshaw was weary of, however they are an innovation into a new shoe generation and I think I speak for most of us when I say I wouldn't mind trying on a pair!

Nails that Sparkle

The other day I was browsing through the make-up section in Boots and I can never resist picking up some nail polish. This time the choice was Models Own Juicy Jules in silver, I tried it as soon as I got home (below) over a coat of Pink Grapefruit 17 lasting finish, and I was really happy with the results!
After a few days they are all still in tact which is a bonus considering I'm really hard on my nails!
I love the sparkly effect and it adds a bit of something extra to your favourite colour, and at £5 a bottle it's definitely worth it!

Office Girl

For the past three weeks I have been doing a bit of work experience in a couple of offices. I don't have a very smart wardrobe so when I found out the dress code was 'smart-casual' I hit a bit of a dilemma. Despite my lack of pencil skirts and fitted suits in my closet, I do have a good selection of blazers. Whilst putting outfits together I realised how easy it is to smarten up a look with the add of a blazer. Below are a few pictures (rubbish Photo Booth quality) of some of my office looks with three different blazers from my wardrobe. I actually got snapped in the top one for a street style blogger so I'm guessing the look worked!

I teamed my shiny black Topshop Skinnies with a Blanco printed top and my black blazer.
I chose coloured burgundy Topshop jeans with a simple black top and my cotton pink blazer.
Finally, I put my blue H and M jeans with a navy top with my tweed H and M blazer.
 Simple Black
 Drape Pale Cotton
Dashing Tweed

I created this mood board (below) on the Polyvore website to highlight a few of my favourite blazers of the season. I went for the two biggest shades that are trending, Bold & Pastels with a mixture of stand out tones from each.
Topshop, Zara and H and M all have a great selection all at good value so even if your not strutting round the office photocopying things, I think a blazer is a must have for this spring/summer. Its easy to co ordinate and it's something light to slip over any outfit. Office Girl
