She's All That

Hello little bloglings! Since I've been gone (no, I'm not going to start jotting down kelly clarkson lyrics) I've acquired a brand spanking new job (PAID this time) at House of Fraser in the multi channel department of their Baker Street office! I'm still learning the ins and outs but my team are lovely and I can't wait to get settled there!
Secondly, to celebrate my first pay cheque in over 6 months, me and a couple of gals booked a holiday to Ibiza for the grand price of £200! Flights, hotel and parties included, well chuffed! The party places are not my sort of thing anymore but I just couldn't turn down a deal like that!
Another bit of exciting news, Stray Closet has now reached over 40k views! That's probably a days work for a lot of you, but this has been a long time coming for me! So thanks guys!
Amongst all of this, I have seriously dropped off the fashion bandwagon and desperately need to learn whats what again!
So, to kick off, I purchased this cheeky number a couple of days ago whilst watching Eurovision (who else is loving Conchita?!).
I recently watched 'She's All That' and simply had to find a gorge 90s trend spaghetti strap dress like Laneys, and Fashion Union made this happen for just £12! This one also looks a lot like Cher's little white number in Clueless, you all know the one!
It hasn't arrived yet but I'm hoping it'll be super cute when it does!

Clueless

I've always been so focused on print each season, so this time its all about plain colours and simple lines and shapes. A simple dress can look gorgeous when its got a great fit, and they're so much cheaper too!

Geek Squad

Geek Squad

After seeing these tops become more and more popular online and in the shops, I got a bit of nail inspo and recreated them on nails!
This post really should be on my sister blog Stray Nails (link above) but I love this design so much I thought I would share it on here instead.
The design was so so easy and simple, just using black and white pens to make the letters over a base coat.
You could also try writing 'dweeb' 'loser' which are popular tee slogans and the colour combo's are endless!

Hope you like them and give them a try!

Polyvore for IPhone Review

If you're a regular reader, you will know I like to do a spot of moodboarding on Polyvore.
So I was uber excited to try out their new IPhone app.
I'm going to India next week so I thought I would do a moodboard around that theme, with an outfit for the hot nights or day trips around the village.

I have to say I thought the app was pretty average!
The way the products were displayed was the same, however you couldn't narrow down the search by price and colour on the web.
I'm not sure about others, but mine kept freezing, so much so that I had to re-download it!
Apart from that they'd pretty much thought of everything to suit the phone format, with resizing the items using touch.

The only other thing was when uploaded, you can't post it anywhere else, there's no share button or anything, I think there was an option to do it whilst uploading, but not after, which meant I had to post this on blogger through the web.

Despite the mishaps, I'm quite impressed I made this moodboard on my phone!
A handy little app when out and about!
Try it yourself!

Best Dressed for Less No.6

I haven't done a best dressed for a while, so when I was flicking through the vogue gallery, I simply couldn't decide on one!
So, Who do you prefer? There is two outfits from Alexa Chung (always popular on the best dressed list) one casual oxblood outfit and a smarter pretty lace dress in pewter. Olivia Palermo in her day to day best, keeping it baggy with a jumper and shirt teamed with shiny black leggings and flat boots.
And last of all there's Jade Williams sporting the turtle neck crop top trend with a pencil skirt in shades of grey, and some killer Jimmy Choos.
All of these have been replicated below for a fraction of their designer price. Theres something to suit you all!

Stud Obsessed??

First, it was the studded toe shoes from Zara, then the khaki studded collar top from Ark, now?
The Melissa Studded Neck Peplum Dress from Boohoo, my first of two Birthday dresses.
The peplum style is quite smart, and this dress is white so I doubt I'll wear it on a night out, drink stains are not a good look!
It will be perfect for my birthday meal, I love how the studs just add something a bit extra to the style and it fits really well!
I got 20% off from the site through UniDays, which made this dress only £20!
Birthday bargain and I am definitely stud obsessed!

Nails Nails Nails

Hey guys!

So I'm back from my little holiday weekend, and because it was a camping holiday and it rained a lot, and I have 3 sisters, I was doing loads of nails. So to bore you further, here are some of the designs I did whilst there.

I promise to do a non related nail post very soon!

But I'm suffering from holiday blues at the moment, and I'm very very lazy.

For instance, I've watched about 12 Jenna Marbles videos in the last 10 hours and not much else.

But, I did buy a french grazia (which is already 'so yesterday' because its weekly) andddd I've started on my DIY bunting, so stay tuned!

First off, my favourite patterns of the weekend (above) I did my sisters nails in a pink and white theme, You can probably guess I used my new nails art pens to do hearts and bows and a ribbon, and dots and flowers and stripes, really cute, and would definitely do this again.

My sisters are going to Turkey next week, so I did holiday themed nails,(below) with a mini cocktail, palm tree, star fish, eye and sun.

Then I did my older sisters, who loves kate spade, so these simple blue and white dotty nails looked so nice!

Then I did mine, little daisies on a blue background.

And mine again, did yesterday, sort of geometric shapes with a pink background.

I also ordered 500 fake plain acrylic nails as soon as I got home for £2.60 on ebay, which I'm going to do designs on and then hopefully start selling them!

May as well make a bit of money out of my favourite little hobby!

Splatter Effect Nails + Tutorial

I saw some splatter effect nails on instagram and had to try it. After watching a few tutorials, I thought I got the hang of it, however it was definitely a learning curve! But we got there in the end.

What you'll need :
Nail Polish (obviously)
I used white as a background colour, with 4x bright shades on top (below)
Straws
cut into bits of about 3 inches long
(I tried it first using a normal sized straw and it just didn't work)
Napkin
This can get messy so do it on your bed or the floor, use a surface you don't mind getting dirty!

Put the base colour on your nails, you don't even have to let it dry before you start splatting, sometimes it works best wet.

Once you've got your base coat on, and your straws are cut, and the napkin laid down, take your first colour and dab a drop into the end of a straw.
Try and get a good sized dollop inside and hold it upright for a few seconds so the paint goes in a bit. This is to make sure when you start blowing some will actually come out!

Once you've done this, start blowing! Don't hold the straw too close to the nail, or this happens...

You want light spats like this (below) so hold it about 2 inches away from the nail.
A steady hand and good aim is best when doing this!

This is my first attempt on one hand.

My second attempt went better once I got the technique right!

As you can see it goes everywhere, but its all good fun!

Once its dried, take a cue tip, dip it in nail varnish remover, and rub off all the unwanted splats and marks and errors around the nails.

And there you have it, easy peasy splatter effect nails!

My next attempt is going to be gradient nails, so stay tuned!
