She's All That

Hello little bloglings! Since I've been gone (no, I'm not going to start jotting down kelly clarkson lyrics) I've acquired a brand spanking new job (PAID this time) at House of Fraser in the multi channel department of their Baker Street office! I'm still learning the ins and outs but my team are lovely and I can't wait to get settled there!
Secondly, to celebrate my first pay cheque in over 6 months, me and a couple of gals booked a holiday to Ibiza for the grand price of £200! Flights, hotel and parties included, well chuffed! The party places are not my sort of thing anymore but I just couldn't turn down a deal like that!
Another bit of exciting news, Stray Closet has now reached over 40k views! That's probably a days work for a lot of you, but this has been a long time coming for me! So thanks guys!
Amongst all of this, I have seriously dropped off the fashion bandwagon and desperately need to learn whats what again!
So, to kick off, I purchased this cheeky number a couple of days ago whilst watching Eurovision (who else is loving Conchita?!).
I recently watched 'She's All That' and simply had to find a gorge 90s trend spaghetti strap dress like Laneys, and Fashion Union made this happen for just £12! This one also looks a lot like Cher's little white number in Clueless, you all know the one!
It hasn't arrived yet but I'm hoping it'll be super cute when it does!

Clueless

I've always been so focused on print each season, so this time its all about plain colours and simple lines and shapes. A simple dress can look gorgeous when its got a great fit, and they're so much cheaper too!

Smocks and Swings

Baggy dresses are creeping onto the New In pages of our e-comm faves, and I'm loving this style. Great for festivals and beachy days, super casual and very Ivy from 90210-esque. I've been eyeing one up from Missguided but it sold out in an instant, so I've been trawling around and found these, with a bit of outfit inspo to match.
There is the usual oversized smock which has been popular in the past, but a new style called 'swing' is emerging, or am I just behind the times, again. They are like smock, the same loosey gooseness only with a cami top to really ooze summer.  I also love the endless accessories that can be worn, there is never too much or too little, and all very Boho.
An easy way to achieve this look, buy a similar dress 3 sizes too big, slap on some turquoise, ruffle your hair, stick flowers in it, and plonk on some sandals.

Lime Favourites

Lime Favourites

Lime has been creeping its way into the shops since it hit the latest fashion weeks, and as summer is really under way we are seeing more and more. Here are a few of my favourite lime picks from the high street.

Summer Outfit

Summer

I always like playing around with mood boards, and this is an outfit I made, which I like, and hope to be wearing soon when the sun finally shows up.
The dress is from Cow, which was my all time favourite shop in manchester. You can access their website here. It's one of those shops where all the stuff is vintagey and thrifty and it smells like your nans attic, and you feel like you've stepped into a macklemore/house indy convention, and I love it.
The bag is from Boohoo surprisingly, I love the tapestry fabric pattern and it reminds me of a bag I bought from urban outfitters years ago and still love as much today.
These items are pretty full on pattern and colour, so the rest is fairly simple.

Ballin'

I had my Summer Grad Ball at the Hilton last Saturday, so naturally thought I'd share the experience with you all.
It was a glamourous evening, with a glass of free champers on arrival, a 3 course meal, and a D-Jay to finish off.
Being on a fashion course you can only imagine the parade we were expecting, girl after girl dressed to the nines. Some with loubi's, some carrying Chanel, and the not so subtle stares from head to toe, with a "what does she look like?" or "that dress does NOT suit her" to follow.
Yes, it was bitchy.
My dress was from ASOS, it was a bargain I thought at £55, however having sent it to Jersey by accident (home), and my Mum having to send it back here, it got a nice VAT charge, which I was fuming about!
I had my hair highlighted, and curled it myself (v.proud) and did my nails (below) and did my make up using my Benefit 'Primpcess" kit.
I even wore heels!
All in all it was a lovely send off, I even had a dance with my finance teacher!

Below is a mood board of the accessories and things I used for the night.

IOTW #2

Hi Guys, here are my instagrams of the week!
My mum came to stay in Manchester this weekend and bought me this zebra print dress from Primark, I love it and it was only £18, if I'm feeling brave enough I'll wear it out soon.
I decided to do some random nail designs, I love the little tuxedo. Will definitely do them for my grad ball in summer.
I went out after using my new hair rollers in my last post and I love how my hair turned out.
A picture of me for throwback thursday/flashback friday, 3 years old wearing a rather fetching cardi!
I love these pop art nails that I did from my WAH nail art book.
I also tried some neon nail varnish which turned out really nice, and bang on trend.
I had an interview at abercrombie and they wanted natural hair and make up, so I tried my best!
I love this trio of bracelets that my mum bought me, also from primark, great for summer, and I will definitely be wearing them in the Caribbean next month. EEK.
I did these metallic nails with an aztec design and a diamond design, which got around 40 likes, which is a lot for me!
Me and my mum went to Blackpool whilst she was here, it was a great day out and there are just a few shots from the day.
