Trending: Hand Chains

With jewellery becoming more weird and wonderful (nail rings didn't really take off) it seems that this summer, the hand chain is going to be a big hit (especially if Caggie Dunlop is wearing one).
With Eastern influences in their design they add instant uniqueness to any summery outfit. Basically every high street store has one or two to choose from and I have been pondering on which one to buy for a while. As much as I love to dress up my hands a bit, I'm thinking that £15 could be better spent on something more useful, but it seems that is the going price for these trinkets.

However as my daily browse through the e-tailers commenced, I came across the Dorothy Perkins sale where I found a lovely little hand chain, not too OTT, for a fiver.
Ba-da-bing, that was my choice sorted!
Below are a few other favourites from this seasons high street stores.

Vogue Hoarder

For any of you who have seen my room, or my wall decorations, I am the definition of a hoarder. Spaces filled with clutter, I just can't throw anything away. This means packing up my entire room for the end of the University year is proving extremely difficult. It is especially difficult to let go of the pile of Vogues I have stacked up in the corner.
To some they are just magazines, trash, and can easily be tossed into a recycling bin, without flinching. But for us they are the fashion bible, glossy sheets of creative beauty, that fill our stylish minds with inspiration each month.
I would keep them in a heart beat but they are too heavy to cart around.

I can't just get rid of them without knowing their going to a good home, or at least towards something useful, which is why I've torn them up.
Sounds more drastic than it is, I have simply ripped out the best pages of each, which will then be filed away over summer, and upon my return made into a collage, framed, embellished, or simply kept as a reminder of the greatest pages that help us create our image.
I've picked my favourite campaigns and the best fashion shoots as well as the covers to form my own mini magazine.
This will then become a keepsake which I can keep and hopefully I can show my children and say 'This is what magazines (if they still have them in the future) used to look like when mummy was younger'

PROBLEM SOLVED!

My dream holiday wardrobe

In a couple of weeks I will be jetting off to Cape Verde with the Mother. I am beyond excited to get some sun and just relax. I have bought a couple of bikinis from Primark and I will be taking my charity shop sunhat and my finders keepers aviators, and as much as I love a student's holiday wardrobe, I can't help but think how the other half spend some dosh on their vacation attire.
Here's how I would spend mine (below). A few designer bags, bikinis, various accessories and some pampering products are the perfect essentials in a lavish closet.
My personal favourite is the Yves Saint Laurent red bikini, I love the colour and the fifties high waisted style, with the gold buttons, this would give anyone the confidence to be a beach knockout!
I would be living the life in luxury! All I would need now is my own jet to get me there.

Today I'm Wearing

I don't have the room or the patience to take photos of myself wearing outfits, maybe when I have a nice loft and a DSLR, but for now, here is what I'm wearing today. The levi short, tank top combo is very popular at the moment especially with the weather becoming slightly shinier.
My levi's are just about hanging on for dear life so I replaced them with these Topshop blue acid hot pants (£28.00) and put them with a black vest from Ark (£12.99) which was cheaper than the identical Topshop ones, so I was chuffed!
I love this look personally, its so easy to throw on, you can put basically anything with it and play around with accessories to make it smart or casual.
I wore my Urban Outfitters watch and assorted rings and bracelets and to give it that extra edge I would of loved to put a nice leather jacket over the top for the evening.
Below are a few bits and bobs to add to this to really make it a simple but effective outfit.

Zara before Chanel

Much of Zara's Spring/Summer Women's collection is coated in Chanel inspired tweed suit pieces, with their take on the classic style, in this seasons trending pastel tones.
Sophistication looms in every jacket, skirt and even dress, perfectly cut and tailored to that of Coco's standards.
I cannot describe how badly I wanted to buy any one of these garments but sadly the price range was just too high, but that didn't stop me from touching, trying on, and admiring in ore.
Zara has dealt a safe hand with this collection, this classic suit has never failed to impress with numerous comebacks on the Chanel catwalk, so why shouldn't the high street stores have a dabble in re-creating the style?
Topshop and Primark have produced their own versions of some suit pieces, but Zara have gone all out.
Below are a few favourites from the collection and some classic Chanel's from over the years.

I loved the yellow dress personally, when I tried it on, I didn't want to take it off!
After seeing this collection and scrolling through the numerous past Chanel collections I hope to one day own a vintage Chanel tweed jacket. (21st birthday present? hint hint)
