Unconventionally 22

As you've probably guessed, my birthday is coming up, and sorry Taylor, but I really don't want to feel 22 (standard cringey pun). So in honour of not wanting to get older, I'm asking for some rather crazy things this year, just to spice it up and revert back to childish ways, which I don't find hard to do at the best of times.
So this year I'm asking for some guitar picks (those things with the eyes), not specifically those ones, but I do like whacky ones. I used to have spongebob ones, but they disappeared.
A couple of Camilla Morton's books. I watched her speak at London Fashion Weekend (post to come) and she was so lovely and funny and I left feeling inspired to write my own book, but I think I'll start by reading hers.
Some smelly candles. I don't have many candles, or many nice smelly things in my room, so I thought I'd combine the two.
A new iPhone case. Not that crazy, but the one above definitely is! I saw it on the internet, and then in Topshop on Oxford Street and I love it!
Some anti wrinkle cream, because I've ran out. Not crazy, just a necessity when getting older.
And finally a minion. Just because. Or a rubber duck to add to my growing collection.

I would love these gifts, almost as much as that girl above loves balloons. Almost. She seems to really like them.

Goodbuy - Missguided Dress

A few posts ago I did a mood board showing a Missguided dress that I had ordered.
After a bit of trouble with delivery it came on the day (yesterday) of my friends birthday 'do' and luckily it fit so I wore it.
One of my blogging pet hates is shoddy quality outfit pictures, so I am not proud of this, especially as its my first!
The dark background, the fact it was taken on my phone, as well as the fact I was a little worse for wear by this point doesn't make for good viewing, but you guys get the gist I'm sure.
However, I promised you guys a photo and here it is.
I have to admit the dress is lovely and definitely a good buy.
Hope you guys like it!

Party Dress

Party Dresses

I've got two birthday parties to attend next week.
Now this means 2 things, celebrating some of my best friends new age, and spending money.
Money for presents, the outfits, and money to spend on the actual partying.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to do it, and I will happily stroll around the streets of manchester basically shoving magazines in the publics faces as a means of earning some extra dolla to pay for the merriment.
But it always helps when you get money off the things you like, and in this case, it was 15% off Missguided online through Unidays (if you haven't signed up to them, do it, the offers are always helpful and include brands such as Motel Rocks, Boohoo, and ASOS).
This meant I ordered this lovely dress for a smidge less, saved some money and that's a party dress sorted!
Above is a mood board of some accessories I would put with the black lacey number, and I can't wait to wear it!

21st Birthday Weekend!

The birthday blues are upon me!
Last weekend it was my 21st, and it was truly the best birthday to date!
My family came up to see me in Manchester, which meant I got to wake up in a hotel on the day, had a leisurely morning and then went to town for a shopping spree with my mum. She bought me my birthday dress and a few other goodies (including those velvet shorts I was coveted a few posts ago!)
Then I went to meet my dad at the Hilton, where my little sisters and my cousin surprised me which was so nice!
Followed by more amazing gifts and a stunning meal at Australasia.
Below are a few pictures from the day!

This is the dress I wore before the meal, part of my stud obsessed collection!

My beautiful sisters and cousin, I cried when they popped out of the wardrobe!

My sister bought me this gorgeous vintage pendant from 1880, and she put these adorable photos inside!

We all shared this bottle with some strawberries!
I also got 2 more bottles of champagne as well as chocolates!

My friend baked me this cake!
It was amazing!

And then I was given this one by my housemates!
So much cake!

My Auntie gave me this Pink Vodka with gold flakes in this personalised bottle, so nice!

This is an awful photo but this is the dress I wore on my birthday night out.
It's one of the brands in Topshop, and I wore it with an urban outfitters belt.
My friends from home all came up for the weekend from around the country and gave me this lovely pandora charm.

I was well and truly spoilt!
But the best part I am going to save and write an entire post on because (although materialistic) its one of the most special things I have been given!

Stud Obsessed??

First, it was the studded toe shoes from Zara, then the khaki studded collar top from Ark, now?
The Melissa Studded Neck Peplum Dress from Boohoo, my first of two Birthday dresses.
The peplum style is quite smart, and this dress is white so I doubt I'll wear it on a night out, drink stains are not a good look!
It will be perfect for my birthday meal, I love how the studs just add something a bit extra to the style and it fits really well!
I got 20% off from the site through UniDays, which made this dress only £20!
Birthday bargain and I am definitely stud obsessed!

Hectic

Hi Guys, I haven't posted in agesss because, as you can probably guess from the title, these past few weeks have been hectic!

This isnt a real post, more like a life update and I wanted to tell you about the changes I'm thinking about for this blog.

So mid-september is when school starts, which means back to uni, so moving back up to manchester was stressful enough. Then its freshers week, which means hangovers, a lot of hangovers.

Uni also means going to lectures, and lectures means work! Especially as a 3rd year, it actually counts this time round.

These past few weeks have been host to all the fashion weeks too, and I wanted to wait for that to blow over because there is too much choice to focus a post on it.

I'm thinking of starting to do OOTD posts, or rather OOTW, to make it a bit easier. This is because the posts are quick and simple, which would mean I can keep posting whilst keeping up with my work.

However! My lack of clothes from travelling over, and my lack of money, means hardly any new clothes have been bought, so my OOTW's would consist of not very interesting style choices.

All of this has left me with no time, lack of motivation and a failed blogging idea.

But don't despair, my 21st birthday weekend is fast approaching, which should hopefully bring some new fashion updates!

In the mean time, here are some pictures of my new room at uni, a bit bigger than my old one, and looking more presentable with my homemade bunting hanging up!

I have managed to purchase one item of clothing since I've been here. This sleeveless chiffon shirt with studded collar, £24.99 from Ark, (you can't really see the studs, below) and you can buy it cheaper from Missguided for £19.99. I love it, really on trend with the military theme of this season.

So there is my little rant of excuses over, try and stay tuned guys, its greatly appreciated!

Birthday Wishlist No.3 - ghd's

After 6 years of dedicated straightening and curling, my beloved ghd's died this morning. Although we're working on repairing them, I know they can last a little while longer, I think its time for a shiny new pair anyway.

I know there are plenty of other companies and celebrity hair stylists who do a range of heating irons, I've never found anything or heard any better reviews quite like ghd's, they are the best.

(If anyone has any other recommendations, they would be greatly appreciated! I haven't completely shunned the other brands!)

So after having a browse on the website,  my favourites from the ranges are these below.

If you would like to have a browse yourself, you can do here.

ghd classic Gold Styler

Limited Edition ghd Red Gloss IV styler

Limited Edition ghd Green Peacock

For more info on any of these please enter the website.

Hopefully 4 months of frizzy hair go quickly!

Birthday Wishlist No.2- Mulberry

Ever since I started my fashion course I've been in love with mulberry, (you might have seen my mulberry event post) lusting after each bag, purse and doggy jacket. I know its a long shot but it would be a right treat to receive one of their bags for my 21st, some people would think this amusing and materialistic, but a present that I admire, thats an iconic brand, which I'm going to use for years to come and remember forever, I would think it perfectly reasonable!
I was very impressed with their latest del rey bags (above), but the new tassle collection is to die for! A bayswater will always win my heart I think though. And although I will probably fall in love with something from their collections before my birthday I've chosen a few which I would love to find in my prezzie pile on the big day.

Even a little bayswater key ring would suffice!

Birthday Wishlist No.1 - Lomography

Ok, apologies for being A-whol recently, but finishing Uni and going on holiday will make that happen I'm afraid!
It's my Birthday in October, which may seem a little early to start making a wish list, but seeing as its my 21st, these things need to be planned!
Some of these wishes may be a bit unrealistic but it doesn't mean I still don't want them!
First on the list is a Lomography camera.
These quirky cameras create amazing photography with different lenses and styles as well as coming in a range of funky colours and ranges, I love them!
Created by 2 students in Vienna after they found the Lomo Kompakt Automat (in 1991 - the year I was born, coincidence? I think not!) and the amazing photos it snapped, the Lomography company has come on leaps and bounds, even being sold in Urban Outfitters, which is probably not their greatest achievement but still!
They created the world's first compact fisheye camera, The Fisheye. This creates a rounded circular effect, one of my favourites!
Price wise, its not exactly cheap, but the packages they do are amazing, and reasonable compared to a DSLR, they are not heavy, just simple little cameras, who pay homage to the times before technology took over!
The photos are disposable but can be scanned at a photo developers onto a disk which is a bonus.

Below are a few of my favourites and some amazing snaps that can be taken with these stylish snappers.
Fingers crossed I find one in my Birthday Bundle!
