Official Grad

If you're around my age, and have friends at uni, your FB newsfeed over the last few weeks will have been filled with flying mortar boards, happy families and robes. If not, you can only imagine how annoying it is after the first few, but after hundreds of 'friends' graduating, it is just too much.

However, I'm going to bore you all with my special day pictures, because after three long years, and so much stress and hard work, I finally graduated with a 2:1 in International Fashion Marketing (with a 1st in Financial Management) and I couldn't be prouder of myself.

As soon as my mum saw me in my attire she burst into tears crying "My little baby!" which was sweet.
There was laughter and gaiety amongst friends, champagne and ceremony selfies. It was just the best day and I didn't want it to end.

I am currently on holiday (back in the cayman islands) so I won't be posting for a week or so, but I will have plenty of photos to bore you all with next!

Ballin'

I had my Summer Grad Ball at the Hilton last Saturday, so naturally thought I'd share the experience with you all.
It was a glamourous evening, with a glass of free champers on arrival, a 3 course meal, and a D-Jay to finish off.
Being on a fashion course you can only imagine the parade we were expecting, girl after girl dressed to the nines. Some with loubi's, some carrying Chanel, and the not so subtle stares from head to toe, with a "what does she look like?" or "that dress does NOT suit her" to follow.
Yes, it was bitchy.
My dress was from ASOS, it was a bargain I thought at £55, however having sent it to Jersey by accident (home), and my Mum having to send it back here, it got a nice VAT charge, which I was fuming about!
I had my hair highlighted, and curled it myself (v.proud) and did my nails (below) and did my make up using my Benefit 'Primpcess" kit.
I even wore heels!
All in all it was a lovely send off, I even had a dance with my finance teacher!

Below is a mood board of the accessories and things I used for the night.

NYE Outfit

Hi Guys,
I just bought this very sparkly skirt from Missguided and thought it would be great for New Year's Eve. Might be a bit early to start thinking about it, but I'm sure you all are!
Sparkles are always big around the holidays, something to do with festivities and parties I think.
I put together a little outfit of what would I think would look great with this ensemble and here it is...

NYE Outfit

I never ever wear heels, not that I dont want to, just being 6 foot tall is a bit of a hinderance!
I loveee these peep toe ankle boots, they make it look a bit more wintery than just plain black heels.
The long sleeved crop top is very 90's (which is very now) and covers up some skin, classiness and warmth preserved, as well as complimenting the peplum with a bit of midriff, but not too much!
Some contrast nails would set off the colours a bit more, a chose this shimmery red because its a darker colour and the shimmer matches the skirts texture.
I'm also loving nude lipstick at the moment. I bought some from Boots today, got home and had left it in the shop! so sad.
Smokey eyes would look great with the colours and perfect if you're going out.
Light jewellery would top it off, but not too much as the skirt is already the statement piece.
Finally a bit of bubbly and you're set for the New Year!
This would also make a great Christmas party outfit.
I was going to save it for NYE but I know I'll be tempted to wear it next week for the end of term!
Hope you like it!

21st Birthday Weekend!

The birthday blues are upon me!
Last weekend it was my 21st, and it was truly the best birthday to date!
My family came up to see me in Manchester, which meant I got to wake up in a hotel on the day, had a leisurely morning and then went to town for a shopping spree with my mum. She bought me my birthday dress and a few other goodies (including those velvet shorts I was coveted a few posts ago!)
Then I went to meet my dad at the Hilton, where my little sisters and my cousin surprised me which was so nice!
Followed by more amazing gifts and a stunning meal at Australasia.
Below are a few pictures from the day!

This is the dress I wore before the meal, part of my stud obsessed collection!

My beautiful sisters and cousin, I cried when they popped out of the wardrobe!

My sister bought me this gorgeous vintage pendant from 1880, and she put these adorable photos inside!

We all shared this bottle with some strawberries!
I also got 2 more bottles of champagne as well as chocolates!

My friend baked me this cake!
It was amazing!

And then I was given this one by my housemates!
So much cake!

My Auntie gave me this Pink Vodka with gold flakes in this personalised bottle, so nice!

This is an awful photo but this is the dress I wore on my birthday night out.
It's one of the brands in Topshop, and I wore it with an urban outfitters belt.
My friends from home all came up for the weekend from around the country and gave me this lovely pandora charm.

I was well and truly spoilt!
But the best part I am going to save and write an entire post on because (although materialistic) its one of the most special things I have been given!

Nicole Farhi Event at Harvey Nichols

Just a quick post about the event I attended the other evening at Harvey Nicholls showcasing Nicole Farhi's new Spring Summer collection with the designer herself as a special guest! Champagne was handed to us on entry (I could get used to that) and we took our seats among the increasingly bustling scene in the ladies wear department.
Canapés were then handed out and as things got under way the chatter diminished and Nicole took her seat in front of the crowd along with the host.

A run through of some of the designers favourite outfits from her collection were presented to us with a short description about the inspiration, the design, the style, the colours and even the construction of the garments. (below)

This print features in a few of Nicole's pieces, the florals patterns and tones would look perfect in a Spring wardrobe.
Nicole sat next to the host, a freelance journalist in Manchester, who described what the models were wearing.
I loved this jacket, made from parachute material and lined with mesh it fits perfectly into the sport chic trend.

Another popular print, grid like texture, belted with a hat screams effortless elegance.
This was definitely my favourite, the white floral laser cut shift dress, although I wouldn't have gone naked underneath as the model dared to do.

After the presentation, the guests got a chance to shop the collection with a special discount. Despite my love for the structured peach dress, (£350) the price tags were a little over budget so we just admired the models (below) and pondered how they could be real?! perfect skin, hair and the clothes to match, we were almost starstruck.

Our jealousy and lack of funds quickly drove us out the door and into the loving arms of Boots, were I proceeded to spend a hefty amount, including my very first pot of anti wrinkle cream! (post to follow) But back to the event, all in all, it was nice to see the collection and amazing to see the designer up close, but unless you had the bottle to go up and talk to her, there wasn't much else on the agenda!

We attended this event through manchesterfashionnetwork.com. I would recommend an RSVP to local events as they are a great way to network especially if your a fashion blogger!
